“Flowers of the Forest” and “Last Post”
On Sunday, November 11, 2006, the Canadian
Parliament passed C-48, legislation to create a day to
recognize and honour members of the Canadian Armed
Forces who have died in service to Canada. This day
shall be known as Remembrance Day, and it shall
commence at 11:00 a.m. on the day that the House
of Commons first convenes following the previous
Parliamentary election.
